Stryper formed in Orange County, California in 1983 as Roxx Regime.
Currently signed to Frontiers Records, Styper is considered a pioneer in Christian metal.

Memorable Moments:
- Stryper stands for Salvation Through Redemption, Yielding, Peace, Encouragement and Righteouness. The Scripture reference for the band is Isaiah 53:5.
- Michael Sweet used to throw bibles to the crowd from the stage.
- Stryper was the first Christian band to get airplay on MTV and was the first band to have two songs in MTV's Top 10 simultaneously.
- The band retired in 1992 but reunited full time in 2003.
