Forrest Frank Announces Decision to Step Away From Award Shows

Forrest Frank

Christian singer-songwriter Forrest Frank has announced he will no longer attend award shows, saying he feels called to shift his focus fully toward Christ and away from industry recognition.

Frank, whose breakout hit God Is Good made him one of the most recognizable names in Christian music, received the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2024. At that time, he admitted he wasn't sure he even wanted to be at the ceremony, reminding the audience that his music exists only to glorify God.

Now, Frank says he feels a stronger conviction to step back entirely.

"I've decided I won't be attending the Doves, the Grammys, or any award shows," he shared in a statement to fans. "I want people-especially young people-to understand that the greatest prize isn't a trophy on a shelf, it's salvation through Jesus Christ. My name in the Book of Life means infinitely more than my name on an award."

Frank emphasized that while he is thankful for every honor he has received, earthly awards pale in comparison to eternal life.

"What is a piece of metal compared to eternity with Him?" he added.

Through this decision, Frank hopes to point attention away from himself and toward Christ, continuing his mission to create music that directs hearts and minds back to the gospel.
