Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine Depart Maverick City Music Amid Legal Dispute

Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine

Grammy-winning artists Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine have officially announced their departures from the contemporary Christian group Maverick City Music. Both artists shared statements on social media confirming their decisions to step away from the Grammy-winning collective.

Their announcements come shortly after Moore filed a lawsuit against Norman Gyamfi, co-founder of Maverick City Music and TRIBL Records, who served as Moore's manager from 2020 to 2023. The lawsuit alleges that Gyamfi misused his managerial position for personal gain, misappropriated intellectual property, and deprived Moore of millions in royalties. It further claims that Gyamfi forged Moore's signature on critical business and legal documents.

The lawsuit also names Insignia Holding Co., TRIBL Records, and Maverick City Music as defendants. The legal action comes amid recent public scrutiny of Gyamfi, who faced criticism after appearing on the Isaac Carree Show and stating that gospel music was "stale" and "not evolving."

Moore and Raine were founding members of Maverick City Music, which was established in 2018 and has since become one of the most influential forces in contemporary Christian music. The group has earned five Grammy Awards and is best known for hits such as "Promises" and "Jireh."

Both artists leave a lasting legacy as integral voices in Maverick City Music, shaping the group's unique sound and contributing to its widespread acclaim in modern worship music.
