Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro Review: 13" Tablet Can Be an All-in-One Home Theater; Equipped with Projector and High-Volume Speakers
Lenovo has yet another addition to its Yoga Tablet Family. Their new devices are not just one, not just two, but three new tablets with the same design but diverse capabilities.
PCMag reported that Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8-inch and 10-inch versions were revived but the newest addition to the company's Yoga series is the 13-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. This new QHD 2560 x 1440 large-screen device is the China-based tech-company's first try in plus-sized tablet market.
Tablets with more than 10-inch displays have no proven market share yet but Yoga Tablet 2 Pro tries to have a head start, against potential rivals. One of its standout features is the built-in pico projector.
The "expansive display" has UHD resolution and is equipped with DLP chip that pumps out 40-50 lumens with WGA resolution. Though it is far from HD quality, the company claims the pico can project clear 50-inch images. The built-in projector, located on the base of the device is said to project good quality videos when the lights are off.
To complete the portable home theater experience, Yoga tablet 2 Pro has 8-watt speakers and a "JBL subwoofer" that gives high quality audio performance. PCPro said the two Dolby Audio and Wolfson Master Hifi front-facing speakers have high volume capability.
It can be remembered that the Chinese tech-company has chosen Ashton Kutcher, the Hollywood actor, as a product engineer for Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro launch. This action shows that "Lenovo is positioning its new flagship tablet as a device for out-and-out entertainment."
Aside from its high quality and tech-forward features, Lenovo has stick to the Yoga tablets' original circular yet slender frame. The circular side of the device had some boost so that it can fit the additional speakers and projectors.
A kickstand, with Hold, Tilt, Stand, and the newest Hang mode, is also attached to the tablet thus creating more comfortable options for the Yoga Tablet Pro 2 users. The device also has curved shaft for easy grip which gives the user the leeway to use no case anymore.
In terms of specification, the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is powered by Android 4.4 Kitkat with an Intel Atom Processor inside. The device also has a 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32 GB expandable memory. Lenovo has also powered their newest flagship tablet with a 15-hour capable battery.
If you want to have your own portable home theater set, Lenovo Yoga Table 2 Pro is available at $499.
