New Devotional Prayer Book Abiding Wisdom by Ryan Whitaker Smith and Dan Wilt

Abiding Wisdom: Prayers Inspired by the Book of Proverbs by Ryan Whitaker Smith and Dan Wilt will release on September 9, 2025, through Brazos Press. The devotional features 75 poetic, free-verse prayers shaped by the wisdom of Proverbs, inviting readers into deeper spiritual reflection and daily prayer. Beautifully illustrated and bound, the book is designed both for personal devotion and as a meaningful gift.
Ryan Whitaker Smith, son of Christian music artist Michael W. Smith, is a Nashville-based filmmaker and author known for projects such as Surprised by Oxford and The Pendragon Cycle. He has also collaborated with his father on songs, music videos, and concert specials. Dan Wilt (DMin, Asbury Theological Seminary) is a pastor, teacher, and songwriter recognized for his ministry in worship and spiritual formation, with previous works including Jesus in the Wild and A Well-Worn Path.
Michael W. Smith has expressed gratitude for the book, noting how these prayers "harmonize with the text of Scripture and make it come alive in a whole new way." Glenn Packiam adds that the words of Smith and Wilt "spark your imagination and slow you down enough to learn the grammar of intimacy with God."
Abiding Wisdom (hardcover, 216 pages, ISBN 978-1587436239) will be released on September 9, 2025, with a suggested retail price of US $21.99 (CAN $30.99). The book is available now for preorder through major retailers, including Amazon: Abiding Wisdom on Amazon.
