JJ Heller Reveals the Inspiration Behind "Joy to the World"

Indie music and radio favorite JJ Heller has released her own unique take of the Christmas hymn "Joy to the World." Heller's version is influenced by Sufjan Stevens' take of the same song.
"A few years ago I made a Spotify playlist called Peaceful Christmas (go have a listen if you haven't already!)," Heller reveals. "Near the top of the list was Joy to the World by Sufjan Stevens. It's a simple, approachable arrangement of a very classic Christmas hymn. I love his version so much that I wanted to sing it myself.
My version is almost identical except for the addition of a British boys choir (yes, they're legit from England), and of course, my voice instead of Sufjan's. There's just something about it that makes me feel like I'm listening to a cozy little Christmas concert at church. I can picture all the kids filing in on stage and doing their best not to fidget. I hope it brings you JOY!!!"
