'Law & Order SVU' Season 16 Episode 2: Spoilers and Updates, Basketball Star on Serial Rape Charges
Last October 3, 2013, USA network has decided to renew Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for its sixteenth season. The series debuted last September 24, 2014 on NBC network.
In the first episode entitled Girls Disappeared, Sergeant Benson manages multiple jobs and her new role as a foster mother to baby Noah Porter. Amaro is now working the traffic beat in Queens and arrests an underage commercial sex worker with relation to Noah's mother, Elite. Elite was brutally murdered. Amaro's work reveals a chain of events that places everyone related, in danger. And a new detective is assigned to Manhattan SVU begins with a bad stance.
In the second episode entitled American Disgrace, Barba tries a basketball star on serial rape charges. Basketball star Shakir "The Shark" Wilkins reveals his partnership with the Orion Bay clothing line, which is owned by billionaire Orion Bauer and his daughter Cordelia. However, the SVU distracts when Orion press representative Carla Cannon tells reports that she was raped by The Shark. And then, more women came forward. Benson and Detective Carisi do not support the reality of each woman's story. As a result, Barba takes such a wobbly case to court.
The main characters of the television series include Mariska Hargitay as Sgt. Olivia Benson, Danny Pino as Detective Nick Amaro, Kello Giddish as Detective Amanda Rollins, Ice T as Detective Fin Tutuola, and Raul Esparza as ADA Rafael Barba.
Peter Gallegher will join the season as deputy Chief William Doods, the tough head of all the Special Victims Unit in the city of New York.
Together with Stacey Keach, Henry Simmons, and Sandy Duncan, Teri Polo of the ABC Family series The Fosters will also join as a guest star in the second episode as Cordelia. Polo was previously seen in the Season 10 episode Confession as another character.
In an upcoming episode in October entitled Produce's Backend, Ron Rifkin will be portraying the role of defense attorynet Marvin Exley. He will be the representative of Tensley, which will be played by Stevie Lynn Jones, a young Hollywood celebrity with issues with the law. Dana Wheller-Nicholson will play Tensley's mother.
