Android 4.4.4 Kitkat for Galaxy Devices Pushed Back to September Release Pending Update Testing
When we left off we found that Samsung S3 users were going to benefit from a new KitKat ROM that had been released by the C-Rom team. This would be the Android KitKat 4.4.4 update. However, is some troubling news on the matter and it seems that Samsung is still having some difficulties rolling out the latest version of the operating system. After the release of the Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System, prime customers Nexus and devices that were compatible with Google play were the first to receive the update. Then the other android devices were next in line to receive the updates.
We mentioned in a previous article that Samsung has been trying to get the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update out to its best selling devices since January. Well that was obviously an over reach as it is still following out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to the devices, which is currently going on now. Android 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 KitKat updates have still not gotten a definite release date. This delay has been a recurring complaint among Android users and reflects badly on Samsung. That could be the reason why clients went for other devices from HTC and Sony because their versions of Android operating systems and their updates reach the market much faster.
Apparently there is still a lot of work to be done as Samsung clearly owes some updates to the flagships such as Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 and 3 as well as their variants. Reports from Telstra, claim that the company has delayed the test submission of the Android 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 KitKat updates up to August 15th, and this means that the updates will probably reach the market around a month later on September 15th. It all depends upon the testing that Samsung will do to ensure that everything is in order for the update versions. Of course, this is unpredictable and could result in a number of further delays, so the galaxy devices just have to hang tight for a little longer.
