Here's the Story Behind Luke Wareham and Rachel Mason's "Forgiven"
UK-based worship leaders Luke Wareham and Rachel Mason will be releasing their brand new single "Forgiven" this Friday, May 7th. Co-written with Damon Brown, "Forgiven" is a powerful reminder of the message of the Gospel. Regardless of the magnitude of our transgressions, Jesus has already forgiven us in his death on the cross.
Wareham and Mason are excited about the new song. "Very excited to be releasing this new song 'Forgiven' this Friday we wrote with our friend Damon Brown. The song is produced by the amazing Tim and Jon Stephenson Bros. Production Co. we think they are the best, mastered by Noah Gilbert and Tom with the great job on the album artwork again. Our prayer is that this song reminds people of the hope and power of the cross."
Co-writer Damon Brown takes the time to reveal how the song came about. He recalls, "I sent this song to my friends Rachel and Luke. They tinkered with it, did some rewrites that strengthened it, massaged the melody here and there, had their producers do a bit of additional crafting....and presto!!
As I sat in my church in Carmel, Indiana one weekend and heard our pastor call anybody to invite Jesus Christ into their life as Lord and Saviour, I considered the simplicity of what WE have to do (accept Christ and humbly ask forgiveness) against the backdrop of how massive and miraculous is the gift HE gives in return. He gives us eternal salvation and a forever home in the presence of God. And so the song 'Forgiven' was born out of this realization. If forgiven is all that we're given, then we still get an eternity in Heaven. It's a pretty immense reality, for any sinner... like me'."
"Forgiven" will be available to stream and download on all music platforms and their brand new lyric video will be on YouTube. Here is the link.
The chords to the song are available to download via SongSelect.
