Joey Feek Demonstrates the Power of a Mother's Love

Joey Feek of country music duo Joey + Rory are fighting the last stages of cervical cancer. Since the cancer has spread and there is no cure for it, the Feeks have decided to stop treatment. They are not back home, not to die but to live. Joey's husband Rory has recently revealed in a blog post on Nov. 29 that Joey could "no longer get out of bed."
However, a mother's love for her child is much stronger than her ailment. In a new family photo, the 40-year-old country singer lights up from ear to ear while bonding with her daughter, Indiana, 22 months. Rory Feek shared the sweet image via Facebook on Friday. The loving husband wrote, "It's 60 and sunny outside today and even brighter inside.. Joey's out of bed teaching signs to Indy on the floor." At this point in Joey's struggle with cervical cancer, being out of her room is a big deal.
For the sake of her daugher, Joey was determined to give her disease a tough fight. "There isn't a day that goes by that [Joey] doesn't look me and her family in the eye and say, 'I'm gonna beat this,' or, 'I'm getting better, I believe that,'" wrote Rory in his emotional entry. "And she asks me if I believe it, and I do. I choose to."
Moreover, the couple are releasing their brand new Christian album Hymns that Are Important to Us next Valentine's Day. The album finds the couple recording their all-time favorite hymns, including "I Surrender All," "How Great Thou Art," "He Touched Me," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "It Is Well With My Soul." This all-new, acoustic-driven release showcases the authenticity and rich, warm vocals of Joey+Rory who have found strength during hard times through these timeless songs of the church.
