Daft Punk Tour 2014 Update: French Duo Releases LP Remix while the Random Access Memories Tour Remains Unannounced
Daft Punk fans are still waiting for the French Duo to officially confirm their upcoming new concert tour. Unfortunately, their plan for the tour this year was met with an unexpected conflict and was canceled. There is no official update on the said Daft Punk tour to date. For the meantime, the duo recently released a remix LP of their 2005 album "Human After All" for the Daft Punk fans.
"Human After All" was the third album of the French duo that ranked No. 10 on the UK album charts, and was only previously available in Japan as a limited edition. Now, the Daft Punk fans can purchase the remix LP online via iTunes. The likes of Soulwax, Peaches, Erol Alkan, and Digitalism are part of the remixes.
As for the next Daft Punk tour, the concert group was trying to get a place for their tour in South Dakota at the "Devils Tower" in Wyoming. Unfortunately, the group wasn't able to nail down the venue. Reed Robinson, the superintendent of the "Devils Tower", was approached for the supposed venue request, but he said that the planned event would be disrespectful to the tribes in the area, "This being a night skies park and a natural part and a sacred site to 24 different tribes, that would be considered sacrilegious and gets into that 'inappropriate use'".
The tour plan remains seemingly sidetracked by other recent projects by the Daft Punk duo. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, for one, might soon release a solo album in the near future. It is said that he is "currently registering a solo album in the near western suburbs of Paris...no release date has been scheduled", and that the upcoming album "will be full of guests", including Charlotte Gainsbourg. Also, the duo are said to be making a TV documentary, "viewers will get an insight into the artistic world of Daft Punk...and the extraordinary story of the two award-winning French DJ musicians hidden behind robot masks".
