'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice': The Action Rises Back in 2016
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is an upcoming American action superhero film, which features the DC Comics characters Superman and Batman. It will serve as the sequel to 2013's "Man of Steel" as well as the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe.
The sequel of the 2013 film was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con International in the same year, after the release of the hit movie "Man of Steel."
The upcoming adventure film cast members include Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/ Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/ Wonderwoman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishbourne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth.
Henry Cavill spoke his thoughts on the upcoming film in Total Film. "I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else. And as a film maker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by drowns and now he's very up again," he said. "And I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly."
The Dark Knight also spoke his mind in Screenrant. "Initially, I was reluctant as I felt I didn't fit the traditional mold but once Zack showed me the concept, and that it would be both different from the great movies that Chris and Christian made but still in keeping with tradition I was excited," Ben Affleck said. "Doing something different and new is always tricky and part of the thrill and the risk is that initially it confounds expectations. The truth is, it's the movie and the execution of it is what all the actors depend on and I believe in Zack's vision."
According to Cinemablend, the actress bet both Olga Kurylenko and Elodie Yung for the role. She is also set to appear in three movies under Warner Bros - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League movie, and Wonder Woman solo film.
The film is set to be directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder. Snyder works with David Goyer in writing the story. The filming for the movie began last October 2013 at East Los Angeles College while the principal photography began last May 2014 in Detroit, Michigan. According to Batman-News, the movie is originally scheduled to do the filming in Africa. However, the ongoing Ebola virus epidemic in the place changed the plan to shooting in New Mexico as a replacement filming location. The desert in Mexico will be a substitute to an African village scene that they initially wished to shoot at.
According to DCCinematicuniverse, the film is initially set to be released on July 17, 2015, but moved back to May 6, 2016 and brought forward to March 25, 2016. Officially, the forthcoming film is set to be distributed by Warner Bros and released in theaters and cinemas on March 25, 2016.
