PlayStation TV Review and Bundles: Latest Sony Creation Has Impressive Gaming Aspects But Does Not Do Well In Video Streaming
If you are a loyal Sony Entertainment consumer, then you probably have the latest gaming platform from the company, in the form of the PlayStation 4. You may also have in your collection the hand-held Sony PlayStation Vita. Now that the Sony PlayStation TV, also known as the PlayStation Vita TV in Asia, has been released in the United States, it is highly likely that you have plans of investing some money on it.
Before you do that though, it will be wiser for you to check out PlayStation TV reviews so you will have some idea on what to expect once you shell out a hundred dollars for the device.
According to IGN, the Sony PlayStation TV package already includes the unit itself, along with an HDMI cable, a wall outlet adapter, and a power cord. The unit is "surprisingly" small - its size is quite a shocker, considering that the device has the term "TV" attached to its name. As for the controllers, players can either use a DualShock 3 or the newer DualShock 4 variant. In terms of memory and storage, the device utilizes the Sony PlayStation Vita memory card, which is exclusive to the hand-held gaming console. You should also know that, since the package does not come with a controller or a memory card, you would have to purchase them separately; though there is a bundle that includes them, but of course it is much more expensive than the basic one.
As GameSpot has reported, the basic package, which includes the unit, HDMI cable, wall adapter, and power cord, costs $99. The limited bundle, on the other hand, which includes everything from the basic package plus a USB cable, a controller (DualShock 3 version), a memory card (8 GB), and "The Lego Movie" Video Game copy costs $140. It was also noted that a Wal-Mart bundle will be available, an offer that includes everything in the limited edition, except that there will be a different game. Wal-Mart will instead offer "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time" instead of the Lego game title.
It's also worthy to note, as Tech Radar has cited, the overall performance of the Sony PlayStation TV is quite impressive in terms of gaming but downside is - it does not do well on video streaming .
