"Amityville: The Awakening": Delaying the Haunt in Theaters, Know More About it
The upcoming twelfth movie in the Amityville franchise titled "Amityville: The Awakening" is expected to be delayed again.
The original release date was supposedly around the fourth quarter of this year, then it got moved in January 2015. Speculations are running rampant that the movie's release date will be yet again moved to a midsummer 2015 release.
The shoot of "Amityville: The Awakening's" ending may be the reason behind the said delay. According to some sources, the horror movie already had two test screenings with a test audience. The result was a positive response, but the movie's conclusion did not satisfy the test audiences. Amityville's special effects are also expected to be improved as it fell short in today's modern standards.
But, there is still no schedule of shooting for one of the movie's stars, Cameron Monaghan, for she is busy shooting for another new season of the US television show "Shameless."
The new Amityville movie is aimed to inform the unfamiliar with the Amityville franchise. The movie is said to reveal old horrific events in the haunted house, plus new occurring scary events as well.
Jennifer Jason Leigh will star in the movie. Leigh will play the role of a mother who bought the Amityville property. Her family is then educated regarding the house's haunts and events by a local student. Additionally, un-diagnosable symptoms suddenly show up to the comatose son of Leigh.
The horror movie's trailer shows glimpses of the paranormal entities and the traditional jump scares. A gruesome scene is also shown as the comatose James, who is played by Cameron Monaghan, attracts dozens of paranormal maggots that eat of his flesh while being possessed by demonic and supernatural entities which transforms James into a monster. Belle, played by Bella Thorne, is also shown as she goes slowly insane as she hears voices from the unknown instructing her to kill.
"Amityville: The Awakening" was written and acted by Franck Khalfoun, who is known for movies like "P2" and the reboot of "Maniac."
Other cast members of the movie include Taylor Spreitler from Melissa and Joey, and Thomas Mann from the "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunter" movie.
