Google and HTC Nexus 9 Will Launch Quietly Tonight - Pre-order Set on October 17; First Device with Android 'L' OS Price Announced
Contrary to initial rumors about the new tablet from the search-engine giant company, Nexus 9 reportedly will launched quietly tonight, October 15. That is two days ahead the initial date announced. The news was that the HTC and Google's new flagship tablet will be unveiled on October 17, BGR reported.
Next month, November 3 to be exact, Nexus 9 tablet will be available to U.S. stores at a debut price of $399. The newest tablet price has a $170 price increase compared to its predecessor, Nexus 7, according to Tech Times. The said price boost is due to the enlarged display screen. The new tablet is rumored to have an 8.9-inch display.
With the Nexus 9, Google is 'aiming to bring premium quality device to market at an affordable price." The American tech-giant has been closing partnership deals with more number of electronics retailers so that Nexus 9 can be reachable to the consumers.
Gospel Herald reported that Google's October 15 event is set to be packed with device premieres. Alongside Nexus 9, new devices like Nexus 6, rumored new flagship smartphone, Android Wear 2.0 gadgets and the newest Android Lollipop OS. Interestingly, the event was expected on a later day which coincides with Apple's special media event on October 16.
Though Google and HTC remain mum on Nexus 9 tablet, everyone know that it will be the very first tablet that will have the new Android 'L' operating system. Aside from new OS, and large 2048 x 1440 screen, the newest device from Nexus series will also have a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor.
In terms of design, new rumors said that Nexus 9 will not have the rumored rectangular design like its predecessor. A leaked image showed a rather square shape tablet. The newest flagship tablet of Google and HTC will also have a 16GB and 32 GB storage capacity and 3GB RAM.
Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 4G LTE versions of Nexus will also be available, even though the price of the LTE variant is not available yet.
