HTC One M8 vs Sony Xperia Z3 vs Motorola Moto X 2014 Comparison: Battle of the Android Smartphones
The HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z3 and the Motorola Moto X 2014 have all the same OS which is the Android KitKat. Each of these phones, according to Phone Arena, has unique features that will appeal to many buyers looking for a dependable Android device.
Resolution for the three is identical at 1080 x 1920p. With regards to the size of their display screen however, the HTC One M8 is only 5 inches. The Moto X 2014 and Sony Xperia Z3 have 5.2 inches display screen.
When it comes to processor speed the HTC One is much slower at 2.3 GHz. The Xperia Z3 and Moto X 2014 has the same processor which is the Snapdragon 801 for Qualcomm. Both the Sony and Motorola share the same processing speed of 2.5 GHz.
The Z3 has more RAM with 3 GB while the HTC M8 and Moto X have 2 GB. The Xperia Z3 has an internal memory of 16 GB and the HTC M8 has doubled that at 32 GB. Motorola likes to give consumers the option of choosing between 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. With regards to memory expansion support, all three have microSD slots.
It is in the camera where these three Smartphones vary in resolution quality and capacity. The HTC 8 is at a disadvantage here with regards to the capability of its rear camera. M8 has only 4 MP. Moto X has a much larger rear camera resolution at 13 MP. Xperia Z3 is the winner with its rear camera resolution of 20.7 MP, ABC reports. In tterms of front camera resolution, the M8 wins with a much larger 5 MP resolution. Surprisingly, Z3 has only 2.2 MP front camera resolution while Moto X's front camera resolution is only 2 MP.
Aside from the size of mega pixel resolutions, picture quality is also important. The M8 front camera is actually suitable for selfie photos because of its 5 MP resolution. The picture taken by its rear camera however, appears grainy. Sony promises that the Z3 can still get high quality pictures even in places there is not much light. Moto X promises simplicity in which you only need to tap the screen for a quick capture photo.
In comparing these three Smartphones, one must bear in mind that the HTC One M8 has already been out of the market for several months. The Sony Xperia Z3 and the Motorola Moto X 2014 have only been recently released.
