iPhone 6 Versus Samsung Galaxy S5 Reveals, Update and Reviews: Galaxy wins Camera and Display while iPhone wins Processor Department
Without a doubt the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 are two of the most popular Smartphones currently on the market. As such, the comparison of the two on several fronts should reveal pros and cons and an overall advantage on one particular side if not the winner.
Display
When it comes to the display, the iPhone 6 comes available with a 4.7 inch LED backlit IPS LCD display with 750 x 1334 resolution with a pixel density of about 326 ppi. As for the Galaxy S5, we have a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display along with Full HD (1080 x 1920) and a pixel density of 432 ppi so the Galaxy wins out here.
Processor
The Samsung S5 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU. The iPhone 6 comes available with a Apple's A8 SoC and two ARM v8-based core. The Galaxy has higher clock speed but the Apple device is more powerful.
Memory
The iPhone 6 has three storage options which are the 16, 64 and 128 GB. The Galaxy S5 is available with either 32 or 64 GB but there is support for micro SD expansion up to 128 GB. The Galaxy has 2GB RAM while iPhone 6 has 1GB RAM and the Galaxy can have a maximum of 160 GB of storage. Galaxy wins this one.
Camera
The iPhone 6 has a 8 MP iSight camera with phase detection autofocus as well as, dual LED flash, 1/3" sensor size and simultaneous HD video. The iPhone also has a 1.2 MP user-facing camera with HD video recording support. The Galaxy comes available with a 16MP camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash and simultaneous HD video and image recording. There is also a 2 MP secondary cam which can record 1080p videos. Samsung wins again.
Operating System
The iOS 8 came out around the time the iPhone 6 was also being released and as such has received some of the most publicity. On the other hand, the problems with the Android KitKat updates over the last couple of months have downplayed the effectiveness of the Android operating system.
On the overall I would say that the phones have both pros and cons even at their level and there would be no better phone based on specs alone. As if it would matter, because both have their legions of clientele.
