"Gotham": Gotham Previews on What to Expect
The new prequel of the popular character, Batman, begins Monday on Fox network. "Gotham" is an American crime television series, which is based on characters appearing in the Batman franchise published by DC Comics.
The crime series chronicles Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne, focusing on Gordon's early days on the Gotham City police force. It also follows the events in the stories of a bunch of Batman villains like Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, joker, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Hugo Strange, Harvey Dent, Mr. Freeze, and Victor Zsasz.
The series is developed by Bruno Heller and executive produced by Danny Cannon, who also piloted the television show. Co-directors include T.J. Scott and Dermott Downs.
Fox has decided to keep the crime series and gave an order last May 5, 2014. The show premiered last September 22, 2014.
Fox revealed an overview of the next episode, according to IGN. The upcoming episode will continue with Cobblepot appearing at Barbara's apartment. He then informs that he is a friend from way back. Then, he rapidly gets in with Barbara in an eerie, "Penguin" manner. Cobblepot also tells Gordon about an impending war. The same report from IGN also reveals a mysterious man in an opening scene. He kills the assistant of a politician with his metallic tube. The man could a be a serious threat in the story. In addition, the executive producer teases that he is going to concentrate on Victor Zsasz and Harvey Dent as of the moment.
The show will also feature the 12-year old and lately left alone, Bruce Wayne, according to Telegraph. Bruce will be played by 13-year old David Mazouz. This boy will transform into Batman when he grows up. In the report, Gotham's creator Bruno Heller also talks about his insights about the series, "Batman is the one great superhero who doesn't actually have superpowers," he said. "Batman is a vigilante who is heroic by sheer force of will, and that's an idea that really resonates - that you can make yourself strong, you can discipline yourself, you can devote yourself to a single-minded goal and succeed. It is a classic story of redemption," he added.
Watch the succeeding episodes of "Gotham". The show airs on every Monday night on FOX.
