iPad Mini 3 Release Date, News: iPad Mini 3 Out This October 16, Will Most Likely Retain iPad Mini 2 Specs, with some welcome additions
iPad mini 3 news: the iPad Mini 3 will be introduced in an Apple launch event slated for October 16.
iPad Mini 3 specs leaked online reveal that the iPad Mini 3 will retain most of the iPad Mini 2 specs, with some new and very much welcome additions.
Display-wise, the iPad Mini 3 will go for the 7.9in display, 2048x1536 resolution that the iPad Mini 2 has.
And just like the iPad Mini 2, the iPad Mini 3 will be available in 16, 32, 64, and 128 GB storage options. A micro SD card slot is still unlikely.
Industry experts speculate that the iPad Mini 3 will have a Touch ID fingerprint-scanning feature, as well as an 8 MP iSight camera. In comparison, the iPad mini 2 with Retina display has a rear-facing 5 MP iSight camera and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera for FaceTime and selfies.
Apple will probably pack in the new A8 processor on the iPad Mini 3.
If this is the case, there might not be enough compelling reasons to upgrade to an iPad Mini 3. Apple would have to look into developing a slimmer and lighter design for the iPad Mini 3, pushing it as an "Air" model to make it more attractive to a wider audience. Stay tuned for more iPad Mini 3 updates as the launch date nears.
