'Interstellar' Movie Release Date 2014, Cast Star Jessica Chastain Shares About New Film Calling It a 'Love Story'
The upcoming sci-fi film Interstellar from director Christopher Nolan is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, but co-star Jessica Chastain tells E! that there is much more. She considers the movie really about a love story.
"It's definitely a love story, definitely a love story. As much as the film is about outer space and like the most incredible action, adventure, epic, epic film, it's so much about love", shared Chastain.
"I'll tell you a little bit," the Oscar nominee teased. "I'll tell you about my character. I play a woman who is like a scientist. She's super super smart and scientific and she's not whole at the beginning when we see here. There's an emotional part missing that we then wonder, 'Does she become completed by the end? Is there that journey?' I would say yes."
"Trust me," she continued, "there's no way to over hype this film. I never talked like this about a film, but when I saw it I was like I don't know what to do. It's great."
Interstellar is set to hit theaters on November 7th.
A big mystery of the upcoming film is presented in the new footage that revolves around Jessica Chastain's character, who appears to be Matthew McConaughey's adult daughter who has aged several years since her father took off into outer space, possibly as the result of some sort of time travel paradox.
"He's a man whose reach constantly exceeds his grasp," McConaughey said of Nolan, who cited "2001: A Space Odyssey," as the single greatest inspiration for the film. "With this film, that's true. This is by far the most ambitious film Nolan has ever directed."
Synopsis: "A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage."
The star studded cast for Interstellar includes Matthew McCaughey ("Magic Mike," "Mud"), Academy Award® winner Anne Hathaway ("Les Miserables," "The Dark Knight Rises"), Academy Award® nominee Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty," "The Tree of Life"), Bill Irwin ("Rachel Getting Married," TV's "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"), Academy Award® nominee John Lithgow ("Terms of Endearment," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), Academy Award® nominee Casey Affleck ("The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," "Gone Baby Gone"), David Gyasi ("Cloud Atlas"), Wes Bentley ("The Hunger Games"), Mackenzie Foy ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Parts 1 and 2"), Timothée Chalamet (TV's "Homeland"), Topher Grace ("Spider-Man 3"), David Oyelowo ("Jack Reacher," "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), Academy Award® winner Ellen Burstyn ("The Last Picture Show," "The Exorcist"), and Academy Award® winner Michael Caine ("The Cider House Rules," "The Dark Knight" Trilogy).
