iPad Air 2 Release Date, Specs, News and Reveals: Device to Include Curved Screen Featuring Ion Strengthened Glass

The release date for the iPad Air 2 has officially been slated for the 16^th of October. Apparently, the company issued invitations to the media showing a colored part of the Apple logo along with the tagline that it has been way too long. The event is going to be taking place at  Apple's Town Hall centre at the Infinite Loop Campus in Cupertino in California. It is going to be taking place at 10PM Pacific Time as usual and this is about 6pm in the UK. As such, the invitation does not give away what device we will be seeing and Apple is not saying anything officially other than the fact an event is going to be taking place  and  it fits with the activities of the company when we compare it to what was going on in the previous  years.

There  are a lot of rumors of Touch ID that are coming to the iPad however, it is very certain with the iconic design that the Touch ID feature is going to be there for the iPad Air 2. It is also rumored that all of the buttons will be in their normal place with the rocker on the side however the lock key on the upcoming model is reportedly missing.

As part of the specs,  there will also  be a small microphone which is next to the rear camera. Apart from this, it does not seem that the design has changed all that drastically. The big changes for the model are on the new model and they include a new CPU, more RAM as well as the new implementation of  the iOS 8 software. This will make up the larger share of the USP's for the 2014 version of the iPad. Other rumor s for the iPod Touch 6G include the indication that the glass screen is curved and it may be the ion strengthened glass that we have seen in the iPhone 6.
