'Scandal' Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Where Have Olivia Pope Been
'Scandal' Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Where Have Olivia Pope Been
The last week's episode 2 of "Scandal" Season 4 showed how transition influenced power, when Olivia Pope was quite a handful of this.
Since Olivia Pope and Associates, as this was being introduced in "Scandal," and as she knew it was really over, you would thought that she realized it when Abby informed her that Quinn and Huck were incesting. You would also realized how integral it was to show it off until fans was left with confusion on Olivia who tried to manipulate Huck and Quinn. Basically, Olivia needs a reason to put on that white hat again. Let's hope she would find it in the next season.
In the last episode, Fitz had delivered his initial State of the Union as a newly elected President, along with the Washington Post that described the scene as "big jobs report." It also showed Cyrus who reminded Olivia that even if she chosen to exert distance from duties that involves the White House, she was still involved in the state affairs since she has a relationship with Fitz.
While Quinn and Huck were assigned to work on a new task force due to the positive feedback of their professional chemistry, it seemed that David Rosen was succeeding in his ambition as Attorney General.
Mellie was also in her grieving state. Being the first lady, she was always being disparaged by the public. She was also seen sitting on Jerry's grave. She was wearing a boots and she was looking "shoddy." She was gaining her title as "Madam First Crazy." While Fitz had launched his anti-gun campaign, Olivia was given a task to make sure that James and Lisa Elliot will be present as SOTU's guests of honors.
James, who was an ex-army veteran was tortured by Talibans while Lisa was one of the casualty of school shooting. Between the two, Liv finds it more challenging to bring them to the speech since they hate each other.
Fans would always question, where have Olivia Pope been? As the weeks episode pointed out to her, basicially, she needs a reason why she should put the white hat again. Hope that she would find it in the next season.
