"Orange Is The New Black" Season 3 Premiere: To Have More Twists And Turns, Offers Faith and New Characters
The infamous prison in America will take things up another notch as the "Orange is the New Black" Season 3 is underway. Author Piper Kerman has hinted that a lot of 'twists and turns' are about to happen in the show's third installment, Christian Today reported.
Based on the memoir written by Kerman, the women in prison drama, "Orange is the New Black," is set to have major improvements and changes on its season 3. She hinted that "the upcoming third season will be full of really amazing stories and twist and turns."
When asked for more details, Kerman has kept her mouth shut but manage to mention that "Season 3 will revolve more on the faith of the characters." As the author of the original novel, where the show was based, Kerman serves as a consultant to Orange is the New Black's casts and production staff members.
Christian Post also reported that Kerman said that back stories of the series' main characters will be explored in the newest season of the jail drama. "Orange is the New Black" tackles about a story of a woman who was jailed for money laundering and drug trafficking.
"Orange is the New Black follows the story of a woman who served time in federal prison after she was arrested for carrying a suitcase filled with drug money for her ex-girlfriend."
Aside from faith and back stories, fans of the comedy and drama series will also see new faces on the show's third installment. It is reported that Marsha Stephanie Blake is set to play the role of a new jail officer of Litchfield Penitentiary.
Blake as the newest addition to the show is said to have the name "Birdie." She will replace George "Pornstache" Mendez, played by Pablo Schreiber, who was arrested in "Orange is the New Black" Season 2. Schreiber is rumored to star in a new show in HBO, "The Brink."
"Orange is the New Black" Season 3 will also introduce Mary Steenburgen, Blair Brown, and Mike Birbiglia as the series' newest addition.
Fans surely cannot wait for the newest season of this woman prison drama. Reports said the release date of the third season of "Orange is the New Black" will be on June 2015. On the other hand, confirmations have not been made yet.
Despite of the great anticipation and good feedback plus reviews for the show, Kerman is not a hundred percent happy after telling the world the crime that she did.
"I absolutely regret my crime. I think that while I'm so grateful to have found readers and I'm thrilled with the Netflix show, the truth of the matter is that prison is a deeply traumatic experience," she said.
The author stated that the memoir that she has written has deeply hurt her family and friends thus if she can turn back time, she will choose not to write the book anymore.
