Motorola Moto 360 Review, Release Date: Detailed Review of Moto 360 Against LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live; Released Date In The U.K. Set For Early October
The Moto 360 is finally available to be actually purchased. It has been around for about a week now. A lot people have received their hardware and are actually starting to use it. So let's check it out!
Here is some information regarding the Moto 360 based from hands-on user tests done by various users.
According to a Youtube review, by comparison of the three inaugural Android Wear watches, the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, the Moto 360 is undoubtedly the best looking. Its leather strap, chamfered glass and circular design give it a premium feel. But then again, there is the issue of finish practicality, there is the possibility that it is still susceptible to everyday dings and scratches, whether you are wearing it on your right wrist, or on your left; it is fair game to every hard and rough surface.
As per Tech Radar, Moto 360 sports a .56-inch Backlit LCD IPS circular display with a 320 x 290 resolution that translates to 205 pixels per inch, and made with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is the first watch powered by Android to feature a round display. Upon close inspection however, it doesn't seem to be using the entire real estate, as a small strip towards the bottom of the display is not being used, making it look like a flat tire. And since the display is round, there will be an issue with cut-off text. It features an ambient light sensor, enabling the display to adjust its brightness automatically, to adapt to variable conditions, which is not present in either the LG G Watch or the Samsung Gear Live.
It comes with a wireless charging dock that uses Qi magnetic induction, and connects to your smartphones through Bluetooth; whether this puts great strain on 300 - 320 mAh battery life (which gives you an estimate of 12 hours usage) is still in debate. It has dual microphones which works well for Google's voice control, and is water resistant for a depth of 1 meter, and for the duration of 30 minutes of submersion.
The heart of the Moto 360 is powered by a TI OMAP3630 processor, which is surprisingly an old technology. This backwards step however doesn't seem to negatively affect the Moto 360's performance.
