Arrested Development Season 4 DVD And Fan-Art Competition: The Show Promoters Have Opened Up A Competition In Form Of A Contest Where Fans Participating Can Submit Their Best Artistic Work
We have the latest for you on the Arrested Development season 4 DVD and fan-art competition. Netflix's Arrested Development debuted almost a year ago where it was released in its binge-form. Netflix have taken a new step and announced the release of Arrested Development season 4 on DVD. But this will prove to be an interesting exercise as the series producers alongside Netflix have decided to involve the fans in the designing o the DVD cover.
Arrested Development has taken a different direction not like before where the DVD cover releases a generic cast photo in previous seasons. To this effect Arrested Development show promoters have opened up a competition in form of a contest for the fans named fanartists online, where fans participating can submit their best artistic work.
Once the art work is submitted and the contest is over, Mitch Hurwitz will eventually select the winner and will award him or her a cool $1,000 to honor the creative work of art on the Arrested Development DVD.
In regards to the delay of the DVD, many may tend to think that Arrested Development may have run out of money but this may not be the case. Hurwitz came up with the idea of fanart because according to him, fans no matter what would make the artistic DVD cover and would probably be better than what twentieth Century Fox would come up with.
"The season 4 DVD is coming out soon and they are designing the DVD cover art and you know what? The fan art that people have made for the show is so much more interesting and while Twentieth Century Fox didn't like my first suggestion, "let's just steal it", they have come around to my second suggestion, "Let's have a contest for best fan art! And then steal it!"
So what do you say? Share the art you've made over the years or create new pieces just for season 4 and I'll help select one for the new DVD cover. And probably get paid something. Right? They'd probably have to just legally. I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. But I do have lawyers. And they suggest I retract everything I've just written," Hurwitz said.
The contest has a list of rules that contestants have to adhere to and have up to 16th September to submit their work on Tumblr.
