'Terminator 5': Schwarzenegger Strikes Back in Terminator 5 in 2015
Paramount has already announced the release dates for the upcoming trilogy of the Terminator film.
Terminator: Genesis is the fifth installment of the Terminator movie franchise. It was originally announced as a sequel to 2009's Terminator Salvation and was supposed to be released last 2011. However, after the production as put on hiatus, the film has now been under Annapurna Films and Skydance Production.
The members of the cast stars Arnold Schwarzenegger from the recent The Expendables 3 as the infamous Terminator, Game of Thrones favorite Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Divergent's Dauntless leader Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes as John Connor, The Hunger Games' Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson, and Byung-hun Lee from G.I. Joe Retaliation as T-1000.
Other members of the cast include J.K. Simmons, Michel Gladis, Sandrine Holt, Aaron Williamson, Matt Smith, and Douglas Smith.
There is no official plot announcement yet for Terminator 5. The rumored plot details suggest that the film will feature Schewarzengger's T-800 sent back in time to safeguard young Sarah Connor from Skynet forces.
In other reports, Schwarzenegger said that there will be several Terminators in the movie, which deals a lot of time travel. He adds, "There will be a younger T-800 and then what the model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie, but I feel so good."
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is again playing a T-800 machine in the new film, has also confirmed that the official title is in fact Terminator: Genisys. Meanwhile, Genesys costars Jao Courtney and J.K. Simmons have both indicated that the film's script is smarter than what they have expected.
The movie began filming last April 21, 2014.
Piloted by Thor 2 director Alan Taylor and produced by David and Megan Ellison, along with Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis as writers, the film is bound to premiere in theaters and cinemas on July 1, 2015.
Paramount has also announced two sequels for the new trilogy. The release dates for the two sequels are scheduled 2017 and 2018, with the sixth movie/second installment plotted on May 19, 2017 while the third installment is on June 29, 2018.
