'Sherlock' Season 4 Latest News and Update: The Romance, The Women, and a Possible Third Holmes - A Christmas Special in 2015
Sherlock is a critically acclaimed show from BBC, as cited by The Washington Post. It managed to snag several Emmy award - Benedict Cumberbatch won for the lead actor and Martin Freeman leads in the supporting actor. It came as a surprise, and perhaps, both are not expecting a win - none came to the event to get their awards.
The win for the series came as a surprise. Everyone expected "The Normal Heart" to win major awards.
Keeping up with the tradition of the show, the next season is going to air in 2016 - quite a long wait for fans, but of course it's all worth it. In Season 4, Martin Freeman, who plays the role of Dr. John Watson, said, "It's going to be full of surprises for you, and for us and for everybody. I think we just know to expect the unexpected now." Freeman also added that there could be a "spin-off" to the series.
We've all seen it; Moriarty's dead but show creator, Steven Moffat, assured that he'll be back. The cast and crew for "Sherlock Season 4," is set to start filming on January 2015, but a rumored Christmas special is set to be shown on December 2015.
Sue Vertue, producer of the show, said, "We're working on it. We're working on dates." Moffat added, "We'll get them made as quickly as we can." Rumor has it that there's been a conflict on Freeman and Cumberbatch work commitments and is now being fixed.
"Sherlock Season 4" will introduce new cast - a new baby to be exact. In Season 3, Watson and Mary Morstan are expecting a new addition to the family. Tom Hiddleston is also set to play Sherrinford Holmes, Holmes "older brother." Molly, played by Louise Brealey, is going to be more visible this season. Fans are eager to find out the reason why Moriarty is still alive. What and who made it possible? What will Sherlock do about it? Well, we all just have to wait until 2016.
For now, fans can satisfy their thirst for mystery and Sherlock's charm by watching a Christmas special, which is rumored to be phenomenal.
Steven Moffat said in a statement, "A special, plus a new series of three episodes -- it's a record-breaking run!! Of course, it's far too early to say what's coming, but we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you'd expect."
