An entry-level Android handset, the Xperia E3 is pushing the boundaries of budget phones. "This will be our most affordable LTE device yet," Calum MacDougall, Sony's Director of Xperia Marketing said. "Our task here is to bring as many of our best of Sony capabilities as possible to a more affordable price point." Unveiling the device he added: "This handset is, to some degree, about speed. It has LTE connectivity and a quad-core Qualcomm processor."
Sony Xperia E3 specification:
The Sony Xperia E3 comes with a 4.5-inch IPS display complemented by 854 x 480 pixels resolution and 218 ppi pixel density. The screen is made of tempered glass and has rather large bezels.
When it comes to the exterior, the Xperia E3 has premium-look written all over it. The handset comes with rounded edges and built with matte-effect laden plastic material. Nevertheless, the thicker bezels surrounding the display cannot be ignored. Overall, the quality of the Xperiadevice built with plastic material is above average, reports the sources.
With a quad-core Qualcomm processor running the show, the E3 is further enhanced by 1GB of RAM and a sizeable 2330mAh Lithium-Ion battery. A 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera will keep snap-happy users appeased. This camera is further enhanced by a number of 'smart camera capabilities' which has dropped down from the flagship Z-series line. These include Time Shift Burst and Social Life. As well as the phone's 4G abilities, the E3's connectivity collection is rounded off by the usual array of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC options.
Despite having been formally unveiled, the Sony Xperia E3 isn't going on sale just yet. The E3 release date has been pegged for 'early October'. Exact Xperia E3 price is also still unclear. However, with its predecessor - the Sony Xperia E1 - having cost just £69.99 at launch, thus we expect the E3 to be equally light on your wallet.
