'Cinderella' Plot, Released Date and Other Details: Cinderella Gets a Reboot in Theaters in 2015 - Full Cast Revealed
Cinderella will get a reboot next year. Lily James, a star from "Downton Abbey," is going to play the role of the most popular Disney princess of all times. The movie is going to follow the life of Ella while she's living with her "step-mother and two evil step-sisters."
We all know the classic Cinderella story where Ella's father, a merchant, remarries. Ella, kind-hearted by nature, welcomes her Lady Tremaine, her new stepmother, and her new stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella.
A new trailer was released for Cinderella and it's really magical. It has been said that the film is going to stick to its original story, but a new twist is going to be added. The story is going to be told through the eyes of Kit - "the kind and humble Prince Charming." Richard Madden from the "Game of Thrones" is going to play the role of Kit.
Eric Eisenberg from Cinema Blend said, "While we were told before the footage that some of the special effects had yet to be completed and that the movie is still very much a work in process, I was definitely impressed by what I saw."
Other cast includes Cate Blanchette as the evil stepmother, Holliday Grainger as Anastacia, Sophie McSherra as Drizella, Helena Bonham Carter as the famous Fairy Godmother, Stellan Skarsgard as "Grand Duke," Derek Jacobi as the "King," Nonzo Anosie as the "Captain," and Hayley Atwell and Ben Chaplin as Cinderella's mother and father, respectively.
The producer of Cinderella 2015, Simon Kinberg, said that the story of Cinderella has yet to be told in a modern way and that's the main reason why he decided to produce the film. Kinberg added, "We were thinking of titles and characters that we hadn't really seen done in a modern, live-action way, and we were kind of stunned that Cinderella hasn't really been done that way, as a traditional, loyal telling of the story. She's a great, iconic character, a character that I loved when I was a kid, and I loved the Disney animated movie."
Cinderella is going to hit theaters on March 13, 2015.
