Android L Release Date: Android L Release Date Still Hanging Until This Fall
The new version of Android operating system has been finally revealed in Google I/O Conference. The new operating system is a complete overhaul from its present mobile OS. The new version which was known before as Android 5 boasts a completely new interface, crafted with lively animations, better battery life and the very first time it runs on 64-bit processors.
Android L is expected to hit Apple's iOS 8. After Apple launched its new line of iPhone 6 gadgets last weeek, Android fans will also get good news as Android L will be released soon. Based on reports released by Tech Times, Google has tied up with HTC to produce Nexus 9 tablet. Following this report, HTC will hold a media event "Double Exposure" on Oct.8 for the debut of their new products HTC Eye smartphones and HTC One M8 Eye (a standalone camera). And Google's Nexus 9 tablet with Android L is no exemption in the event.
The new version of the OS has been available for the developers since June 25 but Android L Release Date for the users will be sometime this Fall. The name Android L has been on speculations as Google has been known to tag its OS with alphabetical names of sweets.
The original 1.0 version was Apple Pie, then Banana bread 1.1, Cupcake 1.5, and Donut for 1.6. Éclair is to version 2.0 while 2.2 was named Froyo. Gingerbread is referred to 2.3, Honeycomb for 3.0, Android 4.0 which is also tagged as Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean for versions 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3.
As of the moment before Android L Release Date, it's still not sure whether it will be the final name. Google may also give the name Key Lime Pie to follow the trend. Other names on the list could be Lion Bar, Liquorice Allsorts, Android Lollipop and Android Lemon Meringue Pie.
