Google HTC Hard at Work on Nexus 9: Google and HTC Fuses Effort on a New Nexus Tablet
Multinational corporation Google and Taiwanese company HTC executives have been strategizing and working on a future tablet device, reports say.
The device is revealed as an 8.9-inch Nexus 9, which was nicknamed HTC Volantis. The next-generation device is believed to hit the market in June 2015, along with the release of Google Android L operating system.
Rumors say that HTC developing engineers have been frequently visiting Google's Mountain View campus in the recent months to craft the device.
The tablet is said to showcase a 2,048 by 1,440 display, having 281 pixels per inch. It will be powered by a 64-bit Nvidia Logan processor (Tegra K1). More than that, it will be built with 2GB RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, 32GB, plus LTE. Pre-release price plans reveal that the 16GB tab will sell for $399, while the 32GB model has a cost of $499. Nexus 9 LTE version price suggestion soars as high as $600.
Google and HTC gave no comment as to whether they are in collaboration on a Nexus tablet. HTC concentrates more or less solely on smartphones. Google's choice to select HTC entails its reputable viewpoint of establishing a wide-ranging foundation of partners. The multinational corporation prefers shifting its partner in order to prevent a single manufacturer from having monopoly.
"Android is a vibrant ecosystem, and many of the industry players are doing well. There's room for many partners to do well and to innovate with Android." Google stated in The Journal.
HTC's leading, HTC One, have acquired a multitude of reviews, recognizing them as the best android smartphones for last year and this year.
Google did not give any statement on the reason it changed partners for Nexus devices. HTC has made deeper efforts to keep its sales versus its competitors. The Taiwanese company's executives have undertaken that they are building up on others areas in the market like wearable devices, just like Sony, Samsung, Apple, and Motorola.
The market response for the HTC Nexus tab is still ambiguous. Nonetheless, the Taiwanese firm can set to hope for a positive outcome like Asus' significant profit boost by double digits on their sales of the Nexus 7 last 2012.
