The Blackberry Passport is one of the most anticipated release by tech giant Blackberry which is targeting enterprise users. Will its odd shape but hefty specs beat the other flagship phones in the international market today? Let's take a quick look on what specs are available as of this writing.
This flagship phone runs on Qualcomm MSM8974AA Snapdragon 800 chipset and its Krait 400 quad-core CPU is clocked at 2.26 GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU.
Sporting a 4.5" IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with pixels at 1440x1440, the Blackberry Passport boasts a whopping 453 ppi pixel density and the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides scratch protection for visual hardware. This means better photo and video viewing resolutions for the multi-media consumer as well as the enterprise users. Also, the screen supports up to 10 fingers with its multi-touch function.
Probably, one of the most talked-about specs in the new device is the touch-enabled physical keyboard. It is pegged to run like a regular QWERTY keyboard with touch command.
This smartphone's main shooter is 13 MP camera supporting up to 4128 x 3096 pixels with autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash, face detection, HDR and Geo-tagging. Added to that, it also has a 2 MP shooter secondary camera that adds more to its glamour.
With connectivity and data in mind, the Blackberry Passport is an LTE device and requires a Nano-SIM to connect to your network. Users can easily connect with Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v4.0 A2DP, micro-USB v2.0 and NFC, with sensors such as gyro, compass, accelerometer, and proximity.
It will run on BlackBerry 10.3 OS and the phone dimensions are 128 x 90.3 x 9.3 mm (5.04 x 3.56 x 0.37 in) and a feather-like weight at 194 grams. And providing juice to the device is a 3450 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery.
Blackberry has announced a media event on September 24, 2014 in their Ontario base, to officially announce their new flagship phone. This event will be held in tandem in Toronto, London and Dubai.
