According to TV Guide's Resurrection 2 episode guide, "Season 2 begins with Bellamy facing another shocking turn of events when he awakens alone and abandoned at Arcadia's outskirts unable, at first, to account for a week of his life. As his memory returns, the town welcomes back from the dead powerful matriarch Margaret Langston after more than a 30-year absence."
Returning this prime time Sunday are ABC's Resurrection cast comprised of Omar Epps as Immigration and Customs Agent J. Martin "Marty" Bellamy, Frances Fisher as Lucille Langston, Matt Craven as Sheriff Fred Langston, Devin Kelley as Dr. Maggie Langston, Landon Gimenez as Jacob Langston, Kurtwood Smith as Henry Langston, Mark Hildreth as Pastor Tom Hale, and Samaire Armstrong as Elaine Richards. They will be joined by recurring guests stars Kathleen Munroe as Rachael Braidwood, Tamlyn Tomita as Dr. Toni Willis, and Shawn Shepard as Mr. Wallace Thompson. Beginning this upcoming episode 1, which is entitled "Revelation," Game of Thrones and 24: Live Another Day alumni Michelle Fairley will also be seen as the town of Arcadia's resurrected matriarch Margaret Langston who has been dead for over three decades. ABC's Resurrection Season 2 episode 1 was directed by Christopher Misiano.
Previously, back during the San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Aaron Zelman told Zap2it that there will be a time jump between the first season's finale and the upcoming season's premiere. Said he, "We won't open right at the end of Season 1. We come in about a week later. Things have happened in town that you'll get a surprising explanation for that will take things in a darker direction for Season 2." About Michelle Fairley's character, Zellman also revealed that "she's the mother-in-law from hell, literally."
