Apple iPhone 6 vs. Nokia Lumia 830 Features, Specs, Price: Neck to neck comparison
The recent release of the apple iPhone 6 has seen many competitors release their own next generation lines of devices. One such company looking to maintain market is Nokia. In response to the iPhone 6 they have the Nokia Lumia 830 and these are the features and specs of both devices compared to each other.
To note, both have stuck to their operating systems, windows 8.1 and iOS 8 for the Lumia and the iPhone respectively. The versions being the latest from both manufacturers; applications of each are already available on their app-stores
Size factor considered. The Nokia Lumia 830 is a little larger with a 5.7 inch display compared to the 4.7 inches of the iPhone 6. However the iPhone is more vivid in terms of picture and video presentation with a rich 326 pixels per inch compared to a low 296 pixel per inch density in the Nokia Lumia 830. No doubt this makes for a difference in experience when playing games that require a lot of detail to be rendered on screen.
The Lumia makes up for that short fall with a faster processor chipset, the snapdragon 400 is more responsive compared to the 64bit adaptation that will come as standard in apple's new devices. Both handsets have 1gb of random access memory but the Nokia Lumia only has a 16gb on-board storage facility whereas the iPhone 6 has 16gb, 64gb and 128gb internal memory options on their devices. If you wish for more space you can extend the Nokia Lumia 830 to an impressive 128 GB with the use of a Micro SD, whereas the iPhone 6 cannot be extended memory.
Connectivity wise, I addition to the standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G that have always been device ready, both companies equipped the devices with LTE technology to enable them access to the 4G standard of connection. While the Nokia guys were reluctant on adding finger print sensors for access control as was maintained by the Apple Inc. guys.
The apple camera set will have a rear of 8MP and a front facing 1.2MP, the Nokia Lumia 820 has an impressive 10MP rear camera but a low end 0.9MP. Video calls will sure have a higher response and resolution on the iPhone 6 than on the Nokia Lumia 830 given such a layout of specs.
For the above and more, the apple iPhone 6 will come with a price range of $200 to $400, while the starting price for the Nokia Lumia 830 is yet to be disclosed.
