Blue Bloods Season 5 Premieres "Partners" on September 26, Spoilers, Cast, and Other News

American police drama series Blue Bloods is renewed for a season 5, and returns to the TV screen today, September 26 at 10PM with its premiere episode "Partners". The new season will have a total of 22 episodes.

The CBS television series, Blue Bloods, revolves around a family of cops dedicated to protecting the city of New York.

Blue Bloods season 5 episode 1 called "Partners" will be about a police task gone wrong, and this might put a character's life at risk. CBS officially provided its premiere episode description, "As Danny and Baez escort confiscated drugs to a remote location for incineration, their convoy is attacked and Baez is seriously injured, leaving Danny to track down the drug cartel responsible. Meanwhile, Frank must carefully navigate personal and political waters when an exemplary lieutenant's actions cause controversy for the NYPD". The episode is directed by David M. Barrett, and written by Siobhan Byrne-O'Connor.

As for the cast, the new season stars Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez, Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan, Jennifer Esposito as Jackie Curatola, Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan, Will Estes as Jamie Reagan, and Len Cariou as Henry Reagan.

As for new and recurring appearances, Holt McCallany will be around for the new season as Robert McCoy. He portrays a lawyer in the series, and he might also be a potential love interest for Erin Reagan. It is said that he will be the new district attorney in the fifth season. Bill Irwin will also be back in the new season as Cardinal Brennan.

Blue Bloods season 5 premieres today, September 26 at 10PM on CBS.
