We have the latest for you on the Release Date, Specs, Review, Price, Keyboard And Unveiling of the BlackBerry Passport. The very much awaited square phone from Blackberry was finally unveiled yesterday on 24th September. After the phone was announced in June, John Chen, the executive officer, has been teasing the phone's features ever since.
During the launch yesterday, Blackberry revealed that the phone will be available in the UK, US, Germany, France and Canada and that it will run the Android apps from Amazon Appstore. When it comes to the specifications of the Blackberry Passport, it has a full HD 4.5 square screen which is said to have a similar viewing space which is similar to that of a 5-inch phone, and even better as it has a wider width. The Blackberry Passport has a screen resolution of 14401440 pixel with a pixel density of 453PPI. The smartphone features a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage with expandable storage via a microSD slot of up to 64GB. More to that, it has a13MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera.
The software featured BlackBerry Blend, which allows users to send the BlackBerry content to other devices including PCs and Android phones, and also the Amazon Appstore. This simply means that the Android apps from Amazon can be installed on the blackberry device. The prices of the smartphone in different regions are £529 in the UK, $599 in the US, €649 in Germany and France and $699 in Canada, when the phones are bought from ShopBlackBerry.com.
During the launch, Mr. Chen said, "As we set out to design BlackBerry Passport, we were guided by a simple yet challenging idea-to set aside the limitations of traditional design and to instead build a device that fundamentally changes the way business professionals get work done on their smartphone. The BlackBerry Passport was created to drive productivity and to break through the sea of rectangular-screen, all-touch devices. The battery of the smartphone is said to be 3,450 mAh and BlackBerry claims that it will last for 30 hours. It is however not known how comfortable the phone will be especially when making calls due to the width.
It is said that "The BlackBerry Passport will take you to new places on the best business trip you've ever had. We want you to imagine the possibilities."
