The Company That Brought You Mario And Many Other Loved Characters Turns 125 Years Old-Happy Birthday, Nintendo!
For people who loved playing Gameboy or Super Mario and Donkey Kong, we owe a lot of our childhood for this Japanese company. Nintendo just recently turned 125! It doesn't feel like it though, does it? With all their great and trending inventions, Nintendo tries to keep their business alive and growing with the help of their loving and loyal users.
Coincidentally, Nintendo just announced that they will be releasing new stuff very soon! They will be releasing Amiibo, which allows fans to experience the vinyl character figures of their favorite Nintendo characters in a whole new way! When you touch the figures in the Wii U gamepad controller, they come to life.
Because we're celebrating Nintendo's existence, we want the fans to know a thing or two about the company. Here are a couple of things that you probably did not know about Nintendo:
1.Nintendo started out as a company that made playing cards. Some playing cards even featured sexy pinup models!
2.The world Nintendo actually means something. In translation, it means luck heaven hall.
3. Super Mario Bros. is the best selling Nintendo Entertainment Systems game ever-selling over 40 million copies all over the world.
4. Mario was named after a man named Mario Segale who was the landlord of the warehouse Nintendo America was using. He was so angry at Nintendo for not paying rent. Guess he really made an impact on the company-now, everyone knows his name!
5. The creators and designers down at the Mario studios created Luigi with the inspiration from Mario (obviously) and Koopa. If you notice that Luigi has the body shape of Mario and the colors are from Koopa's yellow and green palette.
