'True Detective Season 2' Latest News and Cast Update: Exciting News! Collin Farrell Will Join 'True Detective Season 2'
It's official, Colin Farrell is the newest cast member of "True Detective Season 2." The actor confirmed the rumor in an interview with the Sunday World, Farrell said, "I'm doing the second series. I'm so excited."
The actor also revealed that "True Detective Season 2" will have eight episodes, and that, it will take "around four or five months to shoot." He added, "I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids."
"True Detective Season 2" is going to be a "stand-alone" series with new characters and new story plot. Everything is being kept under wraps. There are other names being rumored to be joining "True Detective Season 2" - Elisabeth Moss, Rachel McAdams and Jessica Biel to name a few.
Farrell is a very credible actor. His name is attached to some of Hollywood's biggest film such as "Alexander." According to sources, the negotiation about him, being cast in the series "True Detective Season 2" started back in July. HBO has no comment on the matter.
It was revealed by the creator of the series, Nic Pizzolatto, that "True Detective Season 2" is going to be about "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system"
Farrell is the latest among many "big name actor" to join a series. The actor said that more will probably come, especially now, that the story line for series just keeps getting better. Actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were the lead actors in last year's season. The series "True Detective" has been nominated for five Emmys which is probably why it is catching a lot of attention lately. It is yet to be revealed who will play the role of other police officers in the series.
