'Thor 3' Movie Spoilers: Thor Powers Up for Ragnarok
What truly sets Thor apart from all other members of The Avengers is that his lore is firmly set, and with a wider world, more characters to choose from as enemies when Marvel Studios make a third movie. The lore is well established with the whole comic book being based in Norse mythology. That is why it did not come as a surprise that when talks about a third movie begun circulating, there are so many potential characters and storylines that were being mentioned.
Among the most popular rumors that we have for the third movie today is the Ragnarok theme with Loki allying himself with Fire god Surtur. This would be a perfect way to go if Marvel Studios is looking into this as the final Thor movie. That is simply because Ragnarok tells the story of the end of Asgard. In the comic book series, we saw Thor tearing off Loki's head to finally end the sibling rivalry.
Although this is purely speculation, but producer Craig Kyle and writer Christopher Yost along with the lead role actor Chris Hemsworth all teased about Ragnarok being the theme they are exploring. Hemsworth in an interview with Screenrant, an independent movie and TV news website, hinted that they are making Thor into a powerful god that he should be. They are looking into having Thor making use of Mjolnir, his hammer, in all its powers. Therefore, they are concentrating in building the action and stunts so as to provide viewers the best experience in watching gods at war.
If Ragnarok is indeed the theme they are exploring and Surtur, the 1000-foot tall fire demon is the enemy, then they better boost up the action scenes and give Thor all the superpower potentials that he seem to radiate with, but never get to showcase, in both previous Thor and Avengers movies. This theme could also showcase other Marvel/Norse mythology characters such as Valkyrie.
This third Thor movie is slated for a 2016 release. But Chris Hemsworth will also don his god costume as Thor is set to be in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie.
