Adam Lambert Interview on New Album and Being an 'American Idol', Watch Here (VIDEO)
Adam Lambert is all about peace as he arrives at LAX Airport on Thursday evening (September 18) in Los Angeles.
Adam Lambert has had a busy year, stepping in and touring with Queen to guest judging on "American Idol" and also working on his third album. Lambert stopped by the studio to talk with Ryan Seacrest, whom he knows as the host of "American Idol" and shares about his journey from show contestant to guest judge alongside Jennifer Lopez an Harry Connick Jr. You can check out the video above.
"I'm not going to say too much because I try to keep things under wraps," Adam shared with Ryan. "I'm working on this album, I'm really excited about it. I got signed to another label, which I'm not going to reveal right now, but it's a really good deal and it's a good project. I'm working with an amazing executive producer. Again, I can't say too much, but it's going to be really good."
Lambert stepped in to guest judge while Keith Urban takes a leave of absence for his family. Urban's wife, Nicole Kidman lost her father, Antony Kidman earlier this week.
"Adam Lambert will be serving as guest judge at the NY auditions. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family during this difficult time," the "American Idol" Twitter account shared.
Lambert joins fellow judges Harry Connick, Jr. and Jennifer Lopez.
"The name of the game is artistry," said Lambert to TVLine, when asked if it's possible to launch another massive pop star on the show. "I know the show kept using that word a couple of seasons ago - although I don't know if they actually found that many of 'em - but it's more than just having a nice-sounding voice. It's about the complete package: It's the look, it's the vibe, it's the personality. Hello, hello, personality!"
Lambert added, "a lot of the magic is created in the studio. The thing that sells stars to a mass audience is, 'Do you like them or not? Do you wanna be their friend? Do you wanna look at pictures of them all the time? Do they make you laugh, do they provoke you?'" Lambert reasoned. "The standards have changed a little bit, but it's not up to the show to make that happen, it's the contestants that'll make that happen."
