NCIS Season 12 Spoilers: New Plot, New Setting, and New Characters for McGee and Gibbs
The American police TV drama NCIS is coming back for a season 12. NCIS season 12 is scheduled to air its first episode this September 23.
The new story arc will center on McGee and Gibbs in a new setting, taking the characters on a totally different path than before.
Regarding the new plot, NCIS executive producer Gary Glasberg says, "I think we came up with something that certainly is super action-packed and flips McGee and Gibss in an interesting, different scenario and we'll have to see where it leads throughout the season".
The second season begins as McGee and Gibbs travels to Russia to rescue an NCIS agent who possesses some critical intelligence information. Yet, a team of Russian mercenaries are trying to hunt the two down.
Regarding the new setting, the executive producer said in an interview, "Well, there's certainly a lot politically going on in that part of the world (Russia) right now and it was a storyline that I was kind of drawn to for the opener".
The cast will feature new characters, including the Russian mercenaries mentioned in the new plot. It is reported that actors Lev Gorn and Alex Veadov will be joining the cast. It is said that Alex Veadov will be playing the lead antagonist of the new season.
NCIS season 12 premieres Tuesday, September 23 on CBS.
