SAT-7 North America
Since 1996, SAT-7 has been broadcasting Christian television programming to an audience of over 15 million viewers throughout Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Asia. Airing in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish languages, anyone in those areas with a satellite dish can hear the Word of God in their own language in the privacy of their own homes. Privacy is a real concern for people who live in areas where Christians are arrested, tortured and even killed for their faith.
On November 3, 2013, SAT-7 will launch a new North American television channel, giving the 1.5 million Arab-American and 470,000 Canadian Christians of Arab descent a "voice from home." Featuring regular programming for ministers, leaders, women and children, as well as special live and interactive programming from the Middle East and North Africa in real time, the channel will operate in four North American time zones without any subscription fees. The free-to-air channel will be found on Galaxy 19 at 97º West, 11.867 GHz Vertical, Symbol Rate 22000, FEC ¾. It also will be available online on the SAT-7 NORTH AMERICA website www.sat7northamerica.org), on iOS and Android mobile devices, and via Roku.
In a press release, Rev. Dr. Magdy Girgis, Middle East Ministries, PCUSA, talked about the launch, saying, "SAT-7 is the pioneer of Arabic satellite broadcast stations in the world. It is the mother of all Arabic TV broadcasting. SAT-7 filled the Middle East with the gospel message when the area lacked any TV ministry." Dr. Terence Ascott, SAT-7 founder and CEO, added, "As the Arab population with strong ties to their homelands continues to grow within the United States and Canada, the launching of SAT-7 NORTH AMERICA captures a tremendous opportunity for quality Arabic Christian television programming. We look forward to providing Arab immigrants and their descendants with 'A Voice from Home.'"
