'Orange is The New Black' Writer Realizes She's Gay; Divorces Husband and Dating Samira Wiley
Lauren Morelli, writer for the hit TV series Orange is The New Black, had just finished filing a divorce from her husband Steve Balisone. Morelli filed for the divorce proceedings after realiziing she was gay.
Morelli wrote, "I realized I was gay in fall 2012, one of my first days on the set. It wasn't so much one thing, but the sum of many small details: how uncomfortable I felt around groups of lesbians or how I considered myself (shrug) a 'not very sexual person.' When considered alone, these seemed like little quirks that made me, ME. Wanting to read a book, instead of having sex, is a perfectly reasonable preference to have, right?"
She also said it was while she was writing the story between Piper Chapman and Alex Vause that she discovered her true sexual identity. Morelli and her soon-to-be ex-husband Balisone has been together for six years before finally deciding to tie the knot. Months after they have been married, Morelli realized that she was gay. The divorce between the two is amicable and they actually filed a joint petition in the court.
Morelli is now dating Samira Wiley. Wiley plays the role of Poussey in the series Orange is the New Black.

Well, I can just say that it seems the creators of the controversial show, Orange is the New Black, have their own complex and controversial story to tell. No wonder the storyline for OITNB is so unique. Everyone is happy for Morelli and Wiley.
The fans of Orange is the New Black are eagerly looking forward to the show's newest season which will come out on either June or July 2015. There is a rumored major sex scene between Piper and Alex and fans just cannot wait to have a peek.
