Castle Season 7: Kate & Richard’s Tragedy, Secrets, and Marriage in Upcoming Season 7
Castle Season 7: Kate & Richard's Tragedy, Secrets, and Marriage in Upcoming Season 7
ABC's comedy drama series, Castle, is renewed for a seventh season, and the premiere date is set on September 29, 2014 at 10PM.
At the end of season 6, we saw Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) about to marry his partner Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), but didn't make it to the ceremony; Richard had gotten into a car accident, leaving him trapped in a fiery wreck. Yet, Kate finds out that Richard wasn't in the car. The upcoming season 7 will begin its storyline here.
The mystery of Rick's car 'accident' will be explored in the first episodes of season 7, which will be a rediscovery of some sort between Kate and Rick. Series showrunner, David Amann, says that whatever the truth, it will not tear the two love birds apart, but will "make them stronger". He also says that the new season will reveal a chapter of Richard's backstory. He said, "We've been conscious for a while of wanting to dig a little more deeply into Castle, but we also felt like there was the mythology of Beckett to resolve. Now that it has been, we have some 'real estate' in which we can explore Castle without it being in competition with things going on in Beckett's backstory".
Castle fans are also wondering if Kate and Rick will have another wedding. Series creator, Andrew W. Marlowe says, "We know that we owe them a wedding that accurately reflects who Castle and Beckett are". Meanwhile, Showrunner Amann says, "Over the course of season 7, their relationship will continue to blossom and grow, and perhaps some of the things that people might have wanted to see in season 6 may present themselves a little bit later". This series knows exactly how to keep the fans hooked.
Castle season 7 episode 1 called "Driven" airs September 29, 2014 at 10PM on ABC.
