Mandy Moore Joins Cast of 'Red Band Society' Series Premiering on FOX September 2014, Watch Trailer Here (VIDEO)
The upcoming television series "Red Band Society" premieres on FOX next week and they have revealed that singer/actress Mandy Moore will be joining the cast.
Moore (Entourage, Grey's Anatomy, and A Walk to Remember) will play the role of Dr. Erin Grace, the chief of staff at Ocean Park Hospital. This will be the main center of attention for the upcoming show where a diverse group of young patients are living and building relationships in the pediatrics wing. She will also be the ex-fiancée of Dr. Jack McAndrew (Dave Annable), the country's top pediatric surgeon who also works at the hospital.
The cast of "Red Band Society" is Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable, Griffin Gluck, Nolan Sotillo, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Zoe Levin, Ciara Bravo and Rebecca Rittenhouse.
The show was originally created by Albert Espinosa and the series will be executive produced by Darryl Frank and co-produced by Justin Falvey, Sergio Aguero and Steven Spielberg.
The story comes from the successful Spanish series "Polsere Vermelles" created by cancer survivor Albert Espinosa, is adapted by creator Margaret Nagle's childhood experience of seeing her young brother going into a coma after a car accident.
"Red Band Society" premieres on FOX on September 17, 2014.
Moore first came to prominence with her 1999 debut single, "Candy", which peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her subsequent album, So Real, went on to receive a Platinum certification from the RIAA. Two more singles, "Walk Me Home" and "So Real", were released but failed to have the success of their predecessor. Her 2000 single, "I Wanna Be with You", became her first Top 40 hit in the US, peaking at number 24 on the Hot 100 chart.
