Clay Crosse - 'Rededication' Review
Opening with a testimony ("Rest in You") and closing with a prayer ("Good Morning Lord"), on Rededication, Clay Crosse takes listeners to a very personal church service - one that finds only you and Jesus in the room - with Clay singing quietly in the background. His smooth, warm and emotional vocals show, once again, that Clay Crosse still has the chops that drew fans to him in the first place. With nearly twenty years in the industry, the man hasn't lost a step.
The soulful sound of "Waving a White Flag," is the perfect musical backdrop for the story of surrender. Being an indian-giver with God never works out. While He gladly takes our problems when we hand them over, He never balks when we insist on taking them back, even though He knows that He can handle them so much better than we can. Crosse reminds us that waving the white flag isn't being defeated as long as we are waving it to God. The very private song of praise, "All Because of You," sounds as though it is traveling straight from Clay to God himself. Closer, "Good Morning Lord" is a touching, piano-driven prayer ballad that leaves you with a sense of peace long after the last notes have faded.
The entire project is a gentle wake-up call to the world that shares that we can not be spectators in our faith walks. Choosing to become a Christian isn't an in depth process but being a Christian who has a relationship with Jesus is not a passive activity where we just sit around and let Christ do all of the work. We need to chase after Him daily with all of our hearts.
