A lot has happened in the season finale of Criminal Minds Season 9 - Reid almost got killed, Blake is leaving for good, and Morgan got shot. Criminal Minds Season 10 is set to premiere on October 1, 2014, and it plans to pick up where it left things in the past season.

Criminal Minds Season 10 will introduce the sexy and provocative actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. Hewitt will play the character of Kate Callahan. Callahan is an FBI agent who will join the BAU in Criminal Minds Season 10 premiere episode. Executive Producer Erica Messer said that fans will see Hewiit in a "different light."  Messer added, "You see her doing something you don't see our team ever doing."

The upcoming season of Criminal Minds will also focus on the characters of JJ and Rossi. The events that happened - Morgan and Reid getting shot -- affected them as well. Messer also added that Criminal Minds Season 10 is going to have the "largest disasters with mass casualties they've seen in their 10-year history."

Other stars, who are also rumored to join Criminal Minds Season 10, are Kerr Smith and Alicia Coppola. Smith will play the role of Frank Cowles, who is a body part collector. Actress Alicia Coppola will play the role of Lisa Randall. Randall is the head of Morgellon's disease support group.

The creators of the show will also explore the personal relationship of Morgan and Hotchner. They will try to see how the characters of Savannah, Morgan's girlfriend, and Beth, Hotch's girlfriend, will evolve this season.

Criminal Minds Season 10 is definitely offering something new and fresh. This season might be even bigger and better than season 9. Messer gave another teaser by saying that the team is going to suffer a huge casualty that has never happened before. Is someone from the team going to die?
