U2 New Album "Songs of Innocence' Available Free on iTunes Till Oct. 13
It's not everyday you get to have an album that is entirely free, and it's not just any kind of album - it's an album from U2. An official announcement from Apple recently confirms that U2's new album called, "Songs of Innocence" is being given away for free by Apple, exclusively free through iTunes but only until October 13. So rush to iTunes now before Oct. 13 to not miss out in this great deal from Apple and U2.
U2's new album "Songs of Innocence" features 11 new songs from the Irish rock band. The release of the said album also marks the group's return to music, as it is their first album release in five years. It includes the songs, "Raised by Wolves," "Sleep Like a Baby Tonight," "Cedarwood Road," "Troubles," "This is Where You Can Reach Me Now," "Iris," and more.
This partnership between U2 and Apple was known formally through the company's press event recently, where it introduced new products: larger iPhones and the very first Apple Watch that marks the company's first venture into a new market that caters to wearable technology products. The band also performed at the said press event.
In an interview with the band's lead vocal Bono, he shared how U2 have always wanted their music to reach as many people as possible. The album is considered by the group as their most personal album written to date, and with this surprise offer they made with Apple; this album could reach half a billion of people and subscribers via iTunes. He also added how this unique opportunity could pave the way for others who don't know U2 or don't listen to rock music to finally check out the band and their music.
In a report by New York Times, the album is created as the band's solution to stay relevant in the music scene and that it's about going back to their roots, their young, reflective and innocent selves, and the reason they started as a band in the first place. It's all about memories, discoveries, the ups and the downs. Bono even refers to the songs in the album as "first journeys."
The album's physical and digital versions are out Oct. 14.
