True Detective Season 2: Justin Lin In Talks to Direct?
The HBO hit mysterious dark drama that starred Matthew McConauhey and Woody Harrelson, with both of them earning Emmy nominations ended and we all know that both actors won't be coming back for the show, the same can be said for its director Cary Fukunaga. There's been quite a lot of buzz about some details for True Detective season 2, but this time reports are saying that Justin Lin is being considered as one of the multiple directors.
An initial report from Deadline says that Justin Lin, famous for directing the action-car chase franchise Fast and the Furious is already in talks to direct at least the first two episodes of the upcoming series. It is unlikely for him to direct the whole season, as it was previously reported that there will be multiple directors to helm the series this time around. Show creator Nick Pizzolatto meanwhile remains as the writer for the second season.
Justin Lin, a Taiwan born American film director is also known for directing the television show Community, Better Luck Tomorrow and CBS' Scorpion. He attended University of California before transferring to UCLA. He later earned an MFA in film directing at the UCLA Film School. He just signed up to direct the next film in the Bourne franchise.
There is still no confirmed casting as of yet, only names being rumored but now it includes Rachel McAdams in the running for the female lead with Elisabeth Moss.
