BlackBerry Passport Specs : Pre-orders already on!
September 2014 can safely be called as a 'gadget' month. With many technology manufactures coming forward to launch innovative products in the market, this September is the best time a gadget lover could wish for.
The Canadian smartphone manufacturer RIM had announced a unique product in the month of September 2014 in its BlackBerry line of products. Since then, the rumor mills have been working overtime to speculate on the shape and specifications of the upcoming device.
As per the announcement by RIM earlier, the device is called BlackBerry "passport" and brings in a refreshing new shape to the smartphones. The BlackBerry passport is a square shaped smart phone, the first of its kind. Armed with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and up to 10 fingers multi-touch, the Passport is indeed a big jump for BlackBerry series of smartphones. A thing to note is, the Blackberry passport comes with a Qwerty keyboard and that is where Blackberry has gone back to its old choice of Qwerty keyboards over a touch screen collapsible keyboard.
Although, very little is confirmed by RIM for the upcoming smartphone, the passport is expected to support both 3G and 4G network and comes with a 4.5 inches screen with a 453 ppi pixel density. It would support 1440x1440 resolution display much to the excitement of its fans. In addition, it is expected to come with a NFC chip (Near field communication) and would support LTE network. With 32 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card slot, it is definitely a step forward looking at the growing demand for more storage space in phones.
RIM had started the pre-orders for its phone already and expects a huge turnout for its first square shaped phone, the passport.
Some also refer to the Blackberry Passport as a "phablet" because of its unique shape and screen size. It is to be seen how this new and unique offering from RIM would go with the users.
